Happy New Year everyone! Thought I'd start 2023 off with a look back at a nice summers weddings from June 2022.
Stuart and Jamey were guests at a wedding I shot a few years back (the amazing David and Hayley, which you can have a look at over on Whimsical Wonderlands!), and had decided to book me for their upcoming wedding. As they both live in New York, I initially thought it might be tricky to catch each other for a chat, but actually it couldn't have been easier! We managed to meet up one very grey Glasgow afternoon for a coffee and a chat when they were over visiting, and even snuck in a wee pre-wedding shoot in the process.
The wedding day itself couldn't have been more perfect. Beautiful sunshine, an amazing setting at Crossbasket Castle, and an abundance of guests (many who had travelled over from the USA) ready for one big massive party!
One thing I loved about my weddings in 2022 was that there was a lot of first looks happening, where the bride and groom see each other privately before the ceremony starts. It's something that's not too common but it's always such a beautiful moment. They're not for everyone, but if you're on the fence about doing it on your day, I fully recommend you do.
We had a lot of opportunities to have fun, and everyone joined in. You always know the dance floor is going to be the best kind of chaos when you have a bunch of people learning ceilidh dances for the first time! Also I think an honourable mention is in order for Burnside Bakehouse for making the amazing St Louis butter cake (it was so good!).
