ABOUT POCKET SQUARE
Hi! My name is Neil Jarvie and I've been photographing weddings since 2012. I was actually a bit of a latecomer to photography, deciding that I wanted to make a career out of it at the age of 26. I started taking my camera to gigs, and shortly after that I wanted to photograph everything from portraits to landscapes, still life to documentary, everything! I enrolled at Reid Kerr college where I studied for two years, and then went on to get my BA degree in photography from City of Glasgow College. After that I hit the ground running, working as a photographer anywhere I could. From a month of photographing visitors to the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden in Leiden, Netherlands, to touring Europe photographing punk bands, it was all go! I even went back to lecture at the college that I was once a student at, Reid Kerr, for a few years. Throughout all of this time I was frequently photographing weddings, and was getting so busy with shooting them that I decided to branch out and start a separate website for my wedding work, and in 2017 Pocket Square was born.
I live near Glasgow with my wife and our daughter. I'm currently trying very slowly to learn Japanese (私に日本語を話すように頼まないでください、私はあまり上手ではありません) and going some long walks in the mornings. I'm having varying success with both.
I have a very relaxed attitude towards life, and I like to bring that out when I'm shooting not just with couples, but with all the guests there on the day.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, I do have an extensive collection of pocket squares.
